Research your destination
Before you go, make sure to research your destination thoroughly. Learn about the local culture, customs, and any specific travel advisories or safety tips for the area.
Bank card
Set your bank card free to be used internationally. There’s no frustration quite like having a wallet full of credit cards that are useless in the country you’re exploring. Take at least two different cards with you.
Passport
Your passport is the most important thing you have when traveling. So be careful with it and don’t carry if you’re going to party or explore but rather bring a screenshot.
Verify the expiration date of your passport, ensuring it remains valid for at least six more months at arrival. Take a photo of your passport and yourself and save it to the cloud. This way, you can access it from anywhere with an internet connection in case of theft.
Visa requirements
Make sure to review your visa requirements before traveling. Some countries may require a visa prior to arrival, while others may require proof of a return ticket. If you are unsure of your exact length of stay, consider purchasing a refundable ticket shortly before departure and returning it once you have cleared customs. This is a searchable site for visa
Accommodations
Don’t overly schedule your trip. If you find that your accommodation or destination isn’t to your liking, feel free to change course and explore somewhere new.
Clothing
Take a look at the weather and bring extra clothes in case the temperature is hotter or colder than expected. If there is also very little chance of rain, bring a rain jacket, which also serves as a windbreaker. Waterproof jackets can also be worn as windbreakers, but not always the other way around. The lighter you pack, the better and if it wrinkles, don’t pack it. You’ll probably not wear it.
Modesty
If you only pack tank tops and shorts, you’re going run into problems. Like many places of worship, dressing modestly is an easy way to show respect. We always have a sarong (what we bought in Bali)our suitcase for different kinds of purposes. You can use it as a blanket for a picnic or sun protection.
Shoes
There’s absolutely no reason for anyone to bring more than 3 pairs of shoes. One set of flip flops, a pair of sturdy walking shoes and a comfortable pair of shoes of your choice.I always wear my walking shoes on the plane, because when it comes to luggage, every gram/once matters.
Maps
Download a map of the area you’re gonna visit in advance. This way you can access it anytime, even if you don’t have internet access. You can give your hotel and sightseeing a star, so they are easy to find on your map.
Luggage
Take a picture from your luggage. In case of loss you can let them see how they look. Make sure your baggage stands out, then it is easy to spot on the luggage belt.Packing cubes help you maximize space in your bag and keep everything organized for easy access. Rather than leaving your belongings scattered in your backpack or suitcase, you can neatly organize them in these handy lightweight bags. This way, you won’t have to rummage through your entire suitcase just to find what you need.
Packing strategically can help you maximize space and save a significant amount. Packing cubes keep your clothes much more compact when you tightly roll them up, compared to just throwing them loosely into your bag or suitcase. In this manner, you’ll be able to pack efficiently and utilize every inch of space available.
